The Rebirth of the BLOG

A lot has happened since my last post:

-Moved to the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA
Here I live and train as a Full-Time athlete.

-Have become more involved in the Diabetic Community and would like to give more back.

-Have been looking for other ways to keep myself financially stable in order to keep training for my goal of the 2012 Olympics

I'm going to use this site as an outlet for myself to post daily routines, and how I deal with the everyday changes of being a World-Class Type 1 diabetic athlete (with an Animas PING Insulin pump). I am able to test my blood and control my pump function through my blood test meter.
It allows me to make changes that I need and highly suggest any athlete use it.
My hemoglobin a1c went from the high 7% to 6.4%. In lamen's terms that means my average blood sugar is around 124!
Check this whole system out at www.animascorp.com.

Diabetes is definietly a pain, but it can be managed so easily and I want to use this site as an outlet for other athletes with or without diabetes to bounce ideas of each other.

I'll try to put up some information daily, with some in depth numbers during this hard training cycle. Lifting stats, throwing, and daily blood glucose readings. Hopefully someone somewhere will be able to use some of this information to help themselves!

If you know of athletes who have Type 1 diabetes, or just anybody that has it. Please forward this page to them, as I want to help those people out.

This weekend I will have much more time to revamp the site a bit and throw some info on here.

So for now that's it!

Take it easy-

Trip to the Training Center

Discus meet on Sunday 15 June at the US Training Center in Chula Vista, CA.
This was the last throw of the competition.
My series was
(Foul, Foul, 62.53
63.44, 63.68, 64.65)

This is also an Olympic A Standard, and qualifies me for the 2009 World Championships with a top 3 finish in the 2009 USA meet.
